To plant the plant you will need to hold the base of the plant not by the stem, tip the pot sideways and gently slide the plant out. If the roots are tangled together than loosen them gently with your fingers. Gently set the plant in the hole and make sure the plant is facing straight up not sideways, than full in the roots with the soil instill the area around the roots are covered. After this press down lightly with your hands to remove any air pockets. After all of this give the plant a good soak to the plant so the soil settles around the plant.
Make the hole a little wider and slightly deeper than your plants pot, for example if your plants originals pot is 6 inches wide than you make the hole 8 inches wide. To dig you must use a shovel or a small trowel, push the tool into the ground and scoop the dirt to the measured length. Than make sure the sides of the hole are loose and not packed hard. With the tip of your shovel use it to loosen up the soil at the bottom so the roots can grow easily. To see if the hole is the correct size, put the plant with the pot in the hole and if the pots soil should be leveled with the ground than it is perfect depth if not add or remove more soil to reach this point.
To see if your plant needs water put your finger about 1 inch deep into the soil and if its dry than it needs water, if the soil is damp than leave it alone for now. When watering you need to water the soil and not the leaves, avoid watering the leaves this can cause disease and sunburn to the plant. Also water the soil slowly so it has time to soak up the water and not have it washed away. when it comes to watering the best time is early morning or late evening, because cooler temps help water soak in and not evaporate. Water till the the soil is moist all the way down to the roots, over watering will lead to rotting roots killing the plant
